DIAGNOSIS
My condition is a condition
I do not wish to share.
My condition is a field of green
strawberries. Do you believe that?
Do you believe my condition
is a small ball of wax thinking
about literature? Barely a screwdriver
stuck in the grave. Affixing the vortext
to its page. Lost on the ether
of my own two feet. I go out
for little walks in the dark.
I never speak to the trees I pass.
It’s my way of romancing the ether.
Please consider this next time
you chart my progress. Please wheel
my gurney to the edge of the lake.
Lake is such a beautiful word.
I’d like to die with it inside me.
